Chelsea 1-1 Barcelona: Post-match Barcelona player ratings

**Chelsea**were unfortunate to share a point apiece with **Barcelona**in the Women's Champions League as both sides kept their unbeaten records in this season's competition.

Ellie Carpenter fired home her first ever Champions League goal to give the Blues a deserved lead, which was cancelled out Ewa Pajor's 28th European strike.

Sonia Bompastor's side will rue a few missed opportunities to get only a second ever win over La Blaugrana.

Right-back Carpenter had a golden chance to put the hosts ahead late on and substitute Catarina Macario had her first touch header contentiously ruled out by VAR. They sit sixth on 8 points.

On the other hand, Pere Romeu's team will be taking a collective sigh of relief that they managed to come away with something, but they still top the league phase table, joint with **Lyon**on 10 points. Here is how they performed on the night.

Cata Coll - 6

Some good punches and saves in the first half to keep Chelsea out. Could not do much about the goal.

**Ona Batlle**- 6

Caught out a couple times by an electric Sandy Baltimore, but guarded Alyssa Thompson well to stop her shooting in a late run in the first half. Switched to the left late on and was a little more solid.

Irene Paredes - 4

Had a good block two minutes in. Was undone a number of times on the break though and was turned far to easily by Aggie Beever-Jones prior to Chelsea's goal.

Maria Leon - 5

Struggled with clearing the ball early on and committed too much on Thompson in the build-up to second a chance that Carpenter should have put away. Free-kick taking was good enough, but did not produce anything.

Esmee Brugts - 4

Did not provide much defensive solidity down the left and was generally soft out of possession. Subbed off 63 mins.

Laia Aleixandri - 7

La Blaugrana's best performer on the night. Made some critical interventions in the middle and final third. Covered the wings well at times too when Chelsea were dominating those areas.

Aitana Bonmati - 5

Stifled by Chelsea's midfield throughout. Could have maybe done better with a first half chance from close range and had one other chance of note from further out thereafter.

Alexia Putellas - 5

Lost the ball too often in the middle. Like Bonmati was swamped for a lot of the game, but did show brighter touches than her Ballon D'Or partner. Subbed off 87 mins.

Caroline Graham Hansen - 5

Started well, tracked back to help Battle and found Pajor with a good pass. Largely snuffed out by Naomi Girma and Baltimore after the technical outage. Subbed off 74 mins.

Ewa Pajor - 6

Could have been stronger in her hold up play and did not get great control of Graham Hansen's pass early on. However, her poise and finish for her equaliser was astute.

Claudia Pina - 6

Dropped really deep to try and help her side push up, especially in the second half, but was pretty ineffective. Set-piece delivery was subpar too, even if her outswinger resulted in the equaliser.

Substitutes:

Aïcha Camara - 6

Subbed on 64 mins. Some decent defending late on.

Vicky Lopez - 6

Subbed on 74 mins. Positive play, was also pretty physical during late defensive moments.

Sydney Schleterleib - N/A

Subbed on 87 mins.

Kika Nazareth - N/A

Subbed on 87 mins.
