To the credit of Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown, reporters were asking him some tough questions that are hard to respond to, but he took them head-on.
With that being said, Brown was asked in front of his locker ahead of the Eagles' Week 12 NFC East showdown against the Dallas Cowboys about those who have criticized him for not being the same player in 2025 as he was in the past few years. Brown has a smile when responding, but he made sure to take his teammate, star running back Saquon Barkley, down with him.
“I guess Saquon ain’t the same player either then,” Brown said with a smile via The Athletic's Zach Berman. “But I don’t got no comment about that. I don’t care about that.”
What's A.J. Brown's response to those who say he's not the same player?

Brown isn't completely wrong with his comments
Cue the Anthony Mackie GIF where he says, "He's out of line, but he's absolutely right." Brown is pretty spot on with his comments, even though he didn't have to bring up Barkley in the conversation.
The stats say the truth right there. Brown has 38 catches for 457 yards and three touchdowns in nine games. At this rate, Brown is looking at 67 receptions for 812 yards and five touchdowns. The yards and touchdowns would be career lows, and the receptions would be tied for the third-lowest of his career.
Much of what has been said about Brown is that he is too predictable with his routes and alignments, making it too easy for defenses to read. Some have gone as far as to say that he can't create the separation from defenders like he used to and is even taking some plays off.
It's the exact same situation for Barkley, who has 175 carries for 662 yards and four touchdowns, averaging just 3.8 carries a game. While he is pacing to hit 1,125 yards on the year, that's just a little over half the yards he got last year when he ran for 2,005 yards.
This argument could be made about most players on the Eagles who have not played up to the same standard as the team that won the Super Bowl last year. Philly has not been efficient on offense, but the defense is at least turning things around at the right time.

While things are far from perfect in Philadelphia, at least the team is 8-2 and has a chance to win the NFC East over the next two to three games, but first it has to get it done against the Cowboys.
