Borussia Dortmund winger Karim Adeyemi reportedly dreams of playing for one of two clubs in the future, including Liverpool.
Adeyemi’s future at Dortmund has emerged as a hot topic in European football, with the 23-year-old German international linked to several top clubs. Since joining Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg in 2022, the winger has attracted increasing transfer interest amid stalled contract talks and reported tensions with manager Niko Kovac.
Although he has not formally submitted a transfer request at the Westfalenstadion, speculation over his future continues. His agent has reportedly held talks with both Manchester United and Inter Milan, keeping the possibility of a move open.
Dortmund is reportedly asking for a transfer fee of $81 million-$103 million for the 23-year-old, though his contract running until 2027 adds complexity to any move.
Sky Germany reports that Dortmund want to extend Adeyemi’s contract but is unwilling to make him one of the club’s top earners. The club’s offer tops out at $691k per month, while the winger is reportedly seeking a higher salary.
According to German outlet WAZ, neither Manchester United, Arsenal, nor Inter Milan are among Adeyemi’s preferred destinations if he leaves Dortmund. The report suggests that Liverpool and Real Madrid are the two clubs the German international truly favors.
So far, neither Anfield nor the Santiago Bernabeu have made formal approaches, though his agent Jorge Mendes has pitched Adeyemi to Los Blancos while exploring options across Europe.

This season, Adeyemi has featured 14 times for Dortmund across all competitions, scoring three goals and providing three assists, despite limited minutes under Kovac.
With the January transfer window approaching and his future at Signal Iduna Park increasingly uncertain, it remains unclear whether Liverpool or Real Madrid will pursue him—or if he will end up at one of the clubs already actively chasing his signature. The German international has been linked with Liverpool intermittently over recent seasons, thanks to his pace, dribbling, and versatility across the attack.
Liverpool’s reported interest last season was partly driven by whether the Reds would need to prepare for life without Mohamed Salah, in case the Egyptian star decided to move to Saudi Arabia or other major suitors. Ultimately he signed a new two year deal.
Liverpool.com says: Adeyemi is one of the most exciting young talents in European football right now. He combines blistering pace, technical skill and a versatility that allows him to play across the front line. Liverpool doesn't urgently need Adeyemi especially with the Reds current attacking depth, but he could be a smart long-term investment—particularly if Salah moves on
