James Trafford takes on Citc Esports

Manchester City’s James Trafford went head-to-head with a City in the Community (CITC) Esports participant to see who is better at FC26.

Jack, a CITC and Oldham College Esports student, had no idea that sitting in the room next to him playing FC26 was the Manchester City goalkeeper.

Battling it out over a game, James came out on top, beating Jack, before surprising him in the room next door.

Commenting on the meeting Jack and the Esports course, James said: “It’s been great fun to play against Jack.

“Some people maybe don’t find school fun, and you just want to have fun in what you do, so by combining it with learning it’s brilliant.”

The fully inclusive course gives students the chance to develop technical skills and gain insights into the industry.

With support from Manchester City, students are given exclusive opportunities to connect with professionals in the esports world, opening the door to industry connections.

Sitting under CITC’s Healthy Futures pillar, the programme aims to build healthy futures through education and employability pathways.

The education programmes encourage and inspire young people by providing qualifications and skills required to progress into further education, employment and training.
