Dak Prescott is about to make fatal mistake with what he'll do with Jalen Carter

A lot has certainly happened since the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Dallas Cowboys 24-20 in their weather-delayed, drama-filled Week 1 matchup.

Some fans might have forgotten that after the opening kickoff, Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter made a dumb mistake and spat at Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, resulting in Carter getting ejected. That led to a fine of over $57,000 and time already served on a one-game suspension.

With the two teams facing off again for the first time since the incident, Prescott was asked if he would participate in any trash-talking with Carter when they first saw each other on the field. Prescott alluded to the fact that it all depends on what Carter does.

“Depends on what he says first, but probably something friendly. Get on his good side."

A lot has changed since that first matchup against Dallas for Philly

The Eagles have ridden the momentum of that win over the Cowboys, going 8-2 on the season. They hold a strong three-game lead in the NFC East, and they are in first in the NFC.

Dallas finds itself in the middle of the pack of the NFL with a 4-5-1 record, but behind the Eagles in the NFC East. The Cowboys are coming off a 33-16 win over the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 11.

Carter is not the same person he was two months ago, as he had a lot of growing up to do. He struggled through the first part of the season with injuries and costly personal foul penalties. Over the last three games, Carter has started to hit his stride, reverting back to his stellar play of 2024 as he comes off a five-tackle and two-pass deflection performance in the 16-9 win over the Detroit Lions.

Prescott would be brilliant to keep to himself and focus on his team, which needs a win to stay in the playoff hunt. The same could be said for Carter as well.
