EAGAN, Minn. — North Dakota drivers are now able to show their support for the Minnesota Vikings on their license plates.
The custom plates, featuring the Minnesota Vikings Foundation logo, are now available for purchase through the North Dakota Department of Transportation. The foundation receives a $15 contribution for each plate purchased which goes to support the organization's mission to advance the well-being of youth through engaging health and education initiatives.

“This initiative is more than just a way for fans to show their Vikings pride — it’s a powerful opportunity to turn that passion into support for children across our communities,” said Brett Taber, vice president of social impact and executive director of the Minnesota Vikings Foundation. “Every license plate purchased helps us expand our reach and deepen our impact on youth health and education throughout the region.”
This new offering is the result of a collaborative effort between the Vikings Foundation and NDDOT. The initiative launched earlier this year, with a requirement that at least 50 fans pre-register to demonstrate sufficient interest. That milestone was quickly surpassed, reflecting the strong fan base that exists beyond Minnesota’s borders. The license plates mirror the popular custom plates available in Minnesota, featuring the iconic Vikings logo and team colors.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of "staff." Often, the "staff" byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
