The first North London derby of the season takes place on Sunday when Premier League leaders Arsenal host rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
Mikel Arteta’s side have established a four-point advantage at the top of the table, although they were held to a 2-2 draw by Sunderland in their last game.
The Gunners have finished second in the Premier League three times in a row, and supporters will be desperate to see their side better than and lift the title for the first time in two decades.
Away from the action, it appears that Arsenal are in the running to sign a prolific Premier League striker.
According to CaughtOffside, both Arsenal and Premier League champions Liverpool are monitoring striker Jean-Philippe Mateta’s situation at Crystal Palace.
The Frenchman’s future in South London has been the subject of speculation for some time now, with the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur also previously linked with a move for the player.

Mateta is under contract at Selhurst Park until the end of the 2026/27 season, but the report does claim that the player has been in discussions with his current club about a new deal.
It isn’t yet clear whether or not an agreement will be reached, as Mateta hasn’t yet made a decision on his future.
Mateta has endured a meteoric rise over the past few years, and has been one of the most prolific strikers in the English top flight over the past couple of seasons.
Having initially joined Palace from German side Mainz on loan in 2021, the striker made his switch permanent the following year and has now scored 54 goals in 171 games for the Eagles.
It is claimed that Palace are more optimistic about their chances of keeping hold of Mateta than they were a matter of weeks ago, when it looked likely that the forward would depart Selhurst Park.
