Pundit Chris Sutton has predicted the outcome of Monday night’s fixture at Old Trafford.
The BBC Sport pundit has insisted it will be a tight contest, but Everton’s lack of firepower will cost Moyes the game.
Indeed, Everton will be ‘resilient as usual’, according to Sutton, but will fall short without a goalscorer.
Predicting a 1-0 defeat for the Toffees, Sutton said: “David Moyes will make things difficult for United on his return to Old Trafford and his side will be resilient as usual, but I don’t think they will hold out.
“If Everton had a goalscoring number nine then the outcome would be more in doubt but I don’t see them causing United problems at the other end of the pitch, either.
“I am keeping Beto in my Fantasy team, because you can guarantee that if I took him out he would start this game and score, but – with Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha – United carry far more of a threat.”
EVERTON CAN STILL CREATE PROBLEMS FOR UNITED ON MONDAY NIGHT
Ruben Amorim’s side are unbeaten in their last five Premier League games, with three wins and two draws.
Everton went into the international break with a much needed victory over Fulham, with an impressive display throughout.
Just three points separate the sides ahead of Monday’s game, though United are six places higher in the league.
Indeed, a win on Monday could propel Moyes’ side up the table, however we are also just five points above the bottom three.
Moyes will be without midfielder Merlin Rohl who is out following an operation on a hernia injury.
The German will likely be out until next month in an unexpected blow for the Toffees. Especially with AFCON on the horizon.
Sutton is correct in his assertion that without a goalscorer, we’ll often come up short in big games.
However, this United side is nothing special. Get at them, Everton.
