Antoine Semenyo is wanted by a host of top Premier League clubs

So far, three of the Premier League's so-called 'Big Six' have been credited with genuine interest in Antoine Semenyo. The versatile and explosive Bournemouth forward penned a bumper new Bournemouth deal on July 1 and it's since emerged that his contract contains a release clause that will be active this coming January.

The figure required to prise Semenyo away from the Vitality Stadium is an initial £60million fee plus £5m in bonuses. Naturally, that's a price that will be of notable appeal given the blistering start the Ghana international has made to this current season, racking up six top-flight goals and three assists under Andoni Iraola.

Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham are all said to be keen and will weigh up the prospect of a winter swoop for the 25-year-old. Spurs, of course, have historical interest as they lodged an enquiry for Semenyo in the summer window when they were quoted a price, thought to be within a similar numerical range, that they were not willing to match.

Since then, Semenyo's stock has sky-rocketed and he is now actively one of the most-attractive attacking options available within the current market. Liverpool are still yet to replace Luis Diaz and their sporting director Richard Hughes brought Semenyo to the South Coast from Bristol City in January 2023 during his previous role with the Cherries. There is a strong professional relationship between the parties too following the deal for Milos Kerkez.

The Lewis family are thought to be willing to back Thomas Frank in January and there is still huge scope to sign a left-winger as the Europa League winners need a long-term successor to Son Heung-min.

They wanted Manchester City's Savinho in the summer and are believed to have made an offer but Etihad chiefs blocked the Brazilian's exit. Spurs eventually settled on Xavi Simons but he was predominately signed to play as a No.10, even if he has been utilised on the left flank.

Premier League-proven Semenyo ticks so many boxes and unlike Liverpool and City, Spurs can offer him guaranteed minutes. Manchester United are also sniffing around and monitoring developments while at this stage, it seems unlikely that Arsenal will move in January.

Semenyo makes no secret of the fact he is an Arsenal fan and if the Premier League leaders were to make their move, it's highly likely a transfer would happen. But crucially, while the Gunners remain compliant with PSR rules, they are thought to be sailing close to the wind where UEFA Squad Cost rules are concerned following a record-breaking summer spend.

Therefore, unless there is a significant sale, it's forecasted to be a quiet month of transfer business at the Emirates, particularly given the excellent start Mikel Arteta's side have made to the season in all competitions.

If Semenyo was to remain with Bournemouth until the end of the season, when his release clause will decrease, Arsenal's stance on a deal might change because they are due to assess Gabriel Martinelli's future as he'll only have one year remaining on his contract.

In many respects, this could well be Tottenham's chance to strike. But given what happened with Eberechi Eze in the summer, Spurs will surely only pounce if they receive assurances that the Ghanaian wants to move to N17. It feels as though this transfer saga is only just getting started.

Iraola knows exactly that, stating on Friday: "We are in November, Antoine [Semenyo] is our player, he will continue to be our player. In January, you can ask me about the market.

"But right now, I am not worried about the next market. I am not worried about the situation. In January, we will talk about whatever happened, the players we need."
