Bills fans did little to hide their frustration with left tackle Dion Dawkins after quarterback Josh Allen took a beating in Buffalo’s loss to the Texans.

On Thursday, Houston’s stout defense sacked Allen early and often en route to claiming an upset 23-19 victory over the Bills. Once the dust had finally settled on the back-and-forth contest, the star signal-caller was brought down a whopping eight times — the most he’s ever taken in a single contest — while also being hit another 12 times.

Though Allen attempted to shoulder much of the blame for Buffalo’s lackluster performance on offense, droves of viewers instead pointed the finger at the Bills’ offensive line — particularly Dawkins.

Taking to social media, one Reddit user shared a particularly bad rep from Dawkins, during which the 31-year-old got pushed back several yards by Will Anderson Jr. before seemingly giving up on the play — thereby allowing the defensive end to wrap up Allen for one of his 2.5 sacks on the night.

“Pitiful,” the person captioned the clip. “This effort by Dawkins is just straight up sad. Clearly gave up on the play.

“I love Dawkins but this play isn’t acceptable. I hope he gets ripped apart this week at film review.”

Others expressed a similar sentiment, with someone writing: “He did this multiple times during the game, and I've seen it in others. Exceedingly disappointing and frustrating.”

Another chimed in, “Wow. Add in the 4th and 1 false start that cost us the game too... Dawkins was atrocious tonight. I don't ever want to see anyone say we have a top o-line ever again.”

Speaking to reporters on the heels of the game, Dawkins conceded that it was incredibly “tough” having to watch Allen take the amount of hits that he did.

"It's a tough night," Dawkins said. "Probably won't be able to sleep. When I see the kid get hit and he rolls around on the ground, it's a tough day for the boys.

“That's like our little and big brother. It sucks, man. I hate losing. We're a good team, though. I think that our best days [are] yet to come.”

Dawkins’ tape from ‘Thursday Night Football’ featured a handful of lowlights, though none were more costly than a false start penalty on fourth-and-one with less than 30 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter.

On the ensuing play, Allen’s pass to wide receiver Joshua Palmer was intercepted by safety Calen Bullock to seal the contest. “I got to be better,” Dawkins said of the penalty.

“It happens time after time, you know. It's hard. It's hard to play offensive line. It's hard to be at your best at all times.

“Stadiums like this, it's loud, you know. There's no excuse. I got to be better. I pride myself on being the best. It is what it is. It's tough ball, man, but better days to come. It kind of feels like it's the last game of the year, but it's not.”
