Arsenal‘Exploring’Shocking Transfer Move For Ex-Man United Star Alongside Spurs And Everton

Arsenal are reportedly exploring a move to sign former Man United midfielder Scott McTominay.

The Gunners will be going into the January transfer window very happy with their squad, as their second team would almost be good enough to potentially win a Premier League title. It has worked well for Mikel Arteta, who has cover when Arsenal have suffered injury problems.

That is the case at the moment, as Gabriel, Noni Madueke, Martin Odegaard and Kai Havertz are amongst those that are still injured, and likely to miss Arsenal’s next game which comes against rivals Tottenham on Sunday.

Speaking of Spurs, Arsenal have been tipped to sign former Man United midfielder Scott McTominay alongside their rivals, in what would be an insane January transfer move, especially for a team who has sufficient depth in midfield already.

According to TeamTalk, Arsenal, Spurs and Everton are all interested in McTominay, who left Man United to join Napoli for £26m in the summer of 2024. Since then, the Scottish international has been excellent, scoring 17 goals, and providing 17 assists for Napoli in 50 games. He also was nominated for the Ballon d’Or, and recently took Scotland to World Cup qualification.

The report says that any buying club would be laughed out of the room if they offered any less than £70m, so surely the Gunners aren’t serious about going after the ex-Man United star, as they already have the likes of Martin Zubimendi, Declan Rice and Mikel Merino in midfield.

Will Arsenal make any signings in January?

The simple answer is, probably not, at least not any major ones, as the Gunners already have the squad to help Arteta go on and win a league title, and potentially a Champions League title too.

However, reports have said that they could be willing to sell both Gabriel Martinelli and Ben White in the January window, which if so, they could invest the money in a replacement for the Brazilian winger.

One name who has been touted as that potential replacement is Antoine Semenyo, who has also been linked with Liverpool, Man United and Tottenham.
