Arsenal and Chelsea are reportedly weighing up a move for one of Liverpool’s most talented academy stars

The Reds have 15-year-old Joshua Abe on their books but he has yet to sign scholarship terms with Liverpool and both Arsenal and Chelsea are tracking the situation.

Ngumoha’s move to Liverpool remains a frustration to Chelsea who have banned Anfield scouts from home academy matches at the West London club. The now 17-yer-old scored a last-minute winner in a 3-2 win over Newcastle United in August aged just 16.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are also keen on Abe. The report states the player’s father is believed to be a “lifelong fan” of the Gunners and that could influence any potential move.

Big-name academy stars moving between clubs is nothing new with Arsenal losing players to Manchester United in recent years while Liverpool snatched Ngumoha from the Blues as referenced above.

The report from the Daily Mail adds: “Abe is a winger with a love of direct, one-on-one dribbling. In five appearances for the Under 18s – he is playing way above his age – he has four goal contributions. He is also playing for England’s youth sides and has played once for Liverpool’s Under 21s.”

The outlet was also told by well-respected online account Secret Scout that Abe is the best winger his age in the country. For that reason, Liverpool will be keen to keep a hold of him but could well be powerless to stop the forward moving on if he decides to do so.

With no scholarship terms signed, Abe would be able to move in with Liverpool only due a compensation fee from one of their rivals if he opts to move there.
