Significant NFL injury news continues to break in the lead up to this weekend’s NFL action, with several popular fantasy football players affected.

In Week 12, we could see the long awaited return of Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow (toe), Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs’ (knee) and Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ (wrist) statuses are up in the air, and New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart (concussion) was ruled out for a second straight game.

Joe Burrow

Burrow was a full participant in practice this week and could feature against the Patriots on Sunday, returning from a Grade 3 turf toe injury nearly a month sooner than expected.

All-Pro wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase is suspended for Week 12, so Burrow’s return would primarily boost the fantasy ceilings of wide receivers Tee Higgins and Andrei Iosivas and running back Chase Brown.

If Burrow is in your injured reserve spot or available on waivers, now is the time to put him in your lineup.

Jaxson Dart

Dart will miss a second straight game in Week 12, so Jameis Winston will start at QB for the Giants against the Detroit Lions.

The rookie returned to practice this week but was ruled out on Thursday morning as he remains in concussion protocol.

With Winston at QB in Week 11, New York rushed well with Tyrone Tracy Jr. and Devin Singletary, but both backs are low-end RB2 or flex options in fantasy against Detroit. The same goes for WR Wan’Dale Robinson and TE Theo Johnson, who should not be started in most league formats.

Josh Jacobs

Josh Jacobs remains a doubt for the Packers next game

Josh Jacobs

Jacobs suffered a left knee contusion in the Packers’ Week 11 win over the Giants. The injury is not considered long term, but the Pro Bowl running back could miss this week’s game against the Minnesota Vikings in anticipation of Green Bay hosting the Lions on Thanksgiving.

If he does, backup RB Emanuel Wilson’s fantasy stock rises, and he should be viewed as a starting option in Week 12. Jacobs’ owners will struggle to replace his production given he enters the weekend as the seventh-ranked fantasy RB.

Aaron Rodgers

Rodgers fractured his left wrist in the Steelers’ Week 11 win over the Bengals and is questionable to play this Sunday against the Chicago Bears. The 41-year-old returned to practice on Thursday, where he was a limited participant.

If Mason Rudolph starts under center in place of Rodgers, the fantasy outlook for wide receiver DK Metcalf and running backs Jaylen Warren and Kenneth Gainwell won’t be impacted much.

Rudolph played well in relief of Rodgers last Sunday, completing 12 of 16 passes for 127 yards and a touchdown. Neither Rudolph or Rodgers should be considered as strong fantasy options in Week 12.
