Mark Walter’s purchase of the NBA‘s Los Angeles Lakers went through in October. As the majority owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers, he has already brought success to the city. And Walter is attempting to do that for the Lakers, too, as evidenced by them hiring two important Dodgers executives.
Andrew Friedman is the President of Baseball Operations for the Dodgers. Farhan Zaidi is a special advisor to the team, known for his work with analytics. And as per the latest report by Ramona Shelburne, both are taking on new advisory roles with the Lake Show.

“Both the Lakers and Dodgers are expected to become part of TWG Sports, the entity Walter created to oversee all his sports holdings,” the ESPN report says. “As such, Zaidi and Friedman are acting as senior executives of TWG Sports, which is helping with the Lakers after the sale of the team closed last month.”

This announcement comes hot on the heels of two Buss family members being fired. Jesse and Joey Buss were relieved of their duties earlier this week, as were several other scouting department members. Walter is clearly not afraid to shake things up.

Jeanie Buss is set to remain the team’s governor for the foreseeable future. However, Walter is not someone who will simply sit and observe. He’s here to win, though, and changes around the Crypto.com arena should come as no surprise to anyone.
