Jacksonville Jaguars Reveal Former Top Picks Week 12 Status

Jacksonville Jaguars’ EDGE rusher Travon Walker suffered an apparent knee injury during the second quarter of Week 11 against the Los Angeles Chargers. The former first overall pick returned later in the game and logged 65% of defensive snaps. Liam Coen did not provide an update on Walker during the postgame press conference or earlier in the week.

Travon Walker sat out on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, a concerning development regarding his Week 12 availability. According to Brent Martineau, the Jaguars have already ruled out the former first overall pick for the game against the Arizona Cardinals. This is the second game that Walker has missed this season, with the first being in Week 5 because of a wrist injury.

Travon Walker, Anton Harrison and Brian Thomas Jr OUT for Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals. I’m a bit surprised on the BTJ designation. @ActionSportsJax

Dawuane Smoot is expected to start in Week 12, while Danny Striggow and B.J. Green II are expected to take on an expanded defensive role. Smoot played 35% of defensive snaps in Week 11, while Striggow played 21%, and Green played 15%. Meanwhile, Emmanuel Ogbah, who was a healthy scratch last week, could see additional playing time as well.
