Nico Harrison has been fired in Dallas, and it’s time for the franchise to move on. Anthony Davis was the centerpiece of the Luka Doncic trade, though, and his situation poses a problem. AD has played in just five games so far this season, but the Detroit Pistons are reportedly interested in him.
Davis is 32 and will turn 33 soon. His trade value is currently as high as it’s likely to get in the NBA. AD himself hasn’t endeared himself to the fanbase either, after wearing a Packers jersey while sitting courtside. And with some suitors in question, a move away does seem imminent.

“The Dallas Mavericks have become one of the most embarrassing situations in sports,” Perkins claimed on the Road Trippin‘ podcast. “If I’m AD, I’m doing everything in my power to get to Philadelphia.

“‘Y’all want to trade me, cool.’ I believe Anthony Davis to the 76ers makes all the sense in the world… My sources are also telling me that Detroit has a lot of interest in old Anthony Davis.”

The Pistons are currently 13-2 to start the year, and nothing is worth disrupting their team chemistry at the moment. Adding Davis will help their already stifling defense, and he’ll be able to play his preferred position.
Big Perk isn’t known for his insider sources, but this might be a realistic option. The Mavericks could use the assets the Pistons have, and AD could get to a team that maximizes his strengths.
