Liverpool FC team news vs. Forest – Injuries, suspensions & available squad

Arne Slot has two new injuries with which to contend as he prepares Liverpool for their Premier League return against Nottingham Forest.

Another international break is finally over and the Reds are back in action with a home match against Forest.

Unlike previously this season, though, the squad haven’t returned with a clean bill of health as Conor Bradley and Florian Wirtz have picked up problems over the last few days.

Here is who will miss out for Liverpool vs. Forest and Slot’s updates:

The good news first: Alisson is set to return to action after eight games out with a hamstring injury.

Slot said on Friday that the Brazilian “trained last week and this week so he will be able to play tomorrow if things work out well today again.”

As mentioned, Bradley and Wirtz are both unavailable to play against Forest, with Slot explaining that both are out with muscle problems.

The head coach commented: “I don’t expect Conor to be part of the upcoming 22 days. Maybe in the end, but not in the [next] 22 days unless something like a miracle happens, which I don’t expect.

“Florian should be able to play after [Forest]. It depends on what happens after, but that shouldn’t be that long.”

Frimpong is still facing some time out, with Slot saying that “he’s not probably going to be available in the upcoming two or three weeks as well.”

This leaves Slot possessing four potential options to play at right-back: Dominik Szoboszlai, Curtis Jones, Calvin Ramsay and Joe Gomez.

The latter missed training on Thursday but was expected to train on Friday.

In addition, Giovanni Leoni remains out with his ACL injury while Jayden Danns and Stefan Bajcetic continue to recover from their respective hamstring problems.
