Next-level Anthony Davis rumor emerges before Bucks-Pistons

Anthony Davis trade rumors appear to be heating up, and it’s got the Detroit Pistons linked to him ahead of their game against the Milwaukee Bucks this Saturday at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee.

Currently still with the Dallas Mavericks, Davis has only played five games so far in the 2025 -26 NBA season, as he continues to deal with a calf issue. Davis was a legacy acquisition of former Dallas general manager Nico Harrison, who played a big role in engineering thegroundshaking Luka Doncic tradeto the Los Angeles Lakers. But now that Harrison is gone, could the Mavericks let go of Davis as well via a trade?

According to former NBA big man Kendrick Perkins, the Pistons are among the teams with interest in trading for the 10-time NBA All-Star (h/tEli Gregorski of Heavy.com).

“The Dallas Mavericks have become one of the most embarrassing situations insports,” Perkins claimed. “If I’m AD, I’m doing everything in my power to get to Philadelphia. ‘Y’all want to trade me, cool.’ I believe Anthony Davis to the 76ers makes all the sense in the world…My sources are also telling me that Detroit has a lot of interest in old Anthony Davis.”

Davis still has up to two more years left on his current contract beyond the 2025-26 NBA season. He stands to earn $58.45 million in salary in the 2026-27 campaign and has a player option worth $62.76 million for the 2027-28 season.

When healthy, Davis is a game-changer on the court, but then again, staying away from injuries has been a well-known weakness of the former Kentucky Wildcats star.
