Opinion: Ruben Amorim may have just set off Everton alarm bells after Iliman Ndiaye comments

Everton take on Manchester United on Monday night, and Ruben Amorim has offered praise to Iliman Ndiaye.

Premier League action is back this weekend after the final international break of 2025.

Everton players have been in action for their countries, but will now focus on Monday’s trip to Manchester United.

Attention will be on Iliman Ndiaye after a brilliant start to the season, and Ruben Amorim’s comments may just set alarm bells ringing.

Ahead of Monday’s game at Old Trafford, United boss Amorim has offered words of praise for Everton’s Ndiaye.

Speaking on United’s official website, Amorim hailed Ndiaye as an ‘amazing player’ after a great start to the season.

Ndiaye has bagged four goals in 11 Premier League games this season, producing some moments of magic with his sensational dribbling ability.

Ndiaye has been backed for a big move away from Everton, and Amorim’s comments may just spark some fear at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

How much is Iliman Ndiaye currently worth?

Fabrizio Romano has stated on YouTube that United are in the market for an attacking player who plays out wide or as a number 10.

Additionally, Romano’s description of what United want is ‘electric, skilful, fast and talented’.

Those attributes sound exactly like Ndiaye, and Amorim’s comments show that the United boss certainly admires Everton’s Senegalese star.

Everton fended off Inter Milan’s interest in Ndiaye over the summer, and almost certainly won’t sell in January.

Offers could arrive in the summer, though, and Amorim’s comments suggest that United may well be interested.

Manchester United have already shown Iliman Ndiaye’s value

Everton are under no pressure to sell Ndiaye, and can command a hefty price tag – in part because of United.

United’s deals for Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha saw both players move for more than £60million.

Ndiaye is now turning in performances similar to those seen from Mbeumo and Cunha at Brentford and Wolverhampton Wanderers, respectively.

Everton would be foolish to ask for anything less than that kind of money, having seen United spend it not once, but twice.

If United come knocking for Ndiaye, expect to see Everton command a pretty hefty fee.
