Lyon enquire about another Real Madrid star after Endrick agreement almost finalised – report

Vinicius Jr’s contract renewal saga has been a constant matter headlining Spanish media for a long time now, especially after how the parties were close to an agreement in February but failed to do so.

The player demanded wages and a signing bonus that the club did not deem justified, and the difference in opinion put the brakes on all negotiations. After all, the Merengues stood firm that the club comes above any player.

As relayed by AS now, Vinicius is happy at the club and wants to continue at Real Madrid. The club, as well, echo the sentiment of continuing together and both parties have now taken a major step towards finalising the renewal

Moving close

Indeed, Real Madrid and Vinicius recently spoke to discuss the situation and have found a means to satisfy both parties. The two parties have agreed to proceed with negotiations and reach a final agreement over his renewal.

Los Blancos do not doubt that Vinicius is a part of the club’s heritage and a precious asset for the management. What changed, however, is that the player understands the club’s stance.

Real Madrid have always made it clear that the club transcends any individual player, something the Brazilian did not see eye to eye with a few months ago when renewal talks collapsed.

Now, however, the star has come to accept that and it played a huge role in helping the parties reach an agreement.

Recent weeks have not been great for the Brazilian at the club, especially after the noise around the reaction he gave to being substituted in El Clasico.

Since then, however, he has talked and discussed the matter with Xabi Alonso and even patched up with his teammates.

On a sporting level, however, the current season has been far better than the previous one for Vinicius as he has looked far more confident and decisive playing in the final third for Real Madrid.

As the season moves ahead and with his renewal now likely to be closed, one hopes he steps up and takes more responsibility for Los Blancos.
