Ex-Steelers WR, NFL star benched after missing curfew for a night out at Las Vegas casino

Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens and star Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb were benched for the first drive of their game against the Las Vegas Raiders for missing curfew, Lamb told reporters this week.

Lamb and Pickens went to the Red Rock Casino in Las Vegas and were having dinner and drinks. In addition, Lamb denied reports that he was seen throwing up outside of the casino.

With a 5:15 p.m. PST kickoff on Monday, the team had a 10 p.m. curfew, which both players missed.

“I was out a little late, after curfew, but we came back,” Lamb said.

Lamb the added it was ‘a disrespect’ to suggest that he was throwing up after the night out.

“That’s a disrespect to even suggest that,” Lamb said. “I know how to hold my liquor.”

Pickens said the situation ‘definitely wasn’t nice’ and he and Lamb wanted to be out there. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said he had a problem with the entire situation as it should be a business trip for the group.

“Yes, I do,” Jones said on 105.3 the Fan. “I don’t have any problem with partying. … But the idea is this is a business trip.”

Pickens still had a star making game, grabbing nine catches for 144 yards and a touchdown. Lamb also added a touchdown on 58 yards.

Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer said he would hold all the star players on the Cowboys to the same level he hold anyone else, which prompted the move.
