Everton travel to face Manchester United on Monday evening, but there could be more than just three points on the line at Old Trafford.
James Garner has been in excellent form for the Toffees this season, and naturally is believed to be catching the eye of teams across the country.
The 24-year-old is actually playing into the final months of his current deal at Everton, which is the main reason why speculation is growing.
It has been suggested that Man United would consider re-signing Garner over the coming months after selling him to Everton back in 2022.
Everton News understands that Everton are confident Garner will sign a new contract before the summer, despite holding a one-year extension clause.
However, United’s stance on a potential reunion with their former midfielder has now been shared.

According to a report from TeamTalk, despite the speculation, Man United do not actually hold any desire to offer Garner a return to Old Trafford.
That will be music to the ears of those on Merseyside, with sources playing down the prospect of Garner returning to the Theatre of Dreams.
The 24-year-old will be a key part of Moyes’ side on Monday night, though, with Tony Hibbert wowed by Garner’s performances this season.
Although Amorim will be expecting Garner to return to his natural spot in midfield, he did impress massively last time out in defence.
This is the positive headache which Garner has provided Moyes with this season.

Newcastle United and Aston Villa are also showing an interest in Garner on the back of his impressive start to the 2025/26 season.
However, the speculation surrounding his expiring contract was slammed shut on Friday during Moyes’ press conference.
“Absolutely not. I have got no intention of letting him go,” said the 62-year-old from Finch Farm.

“And, let me tell you, I don’t know where the news comes from. If I said that the phone has been ringing here and [other clubs have] been phoning about Jimmy Garner, then I would be telling you absolute lies.
“There have been no calls into my phone or anyone at the club that I know of regarding Jimmy Garner. We will obviously look to renew Jimmy’s contract when we are ready to do so.”
Which will be music to the ears of Everton fans.
