Richarlison’s Tottenham Hotspur future remains uncertain amid Everton transfer links
Tottenham forward Richarlison has struggled to meet expectations at N17 since his arrival in 2022. The Brazil international was a fan favourite during his time at Everton, but he has not been able to replicate that form during his three years with the Lilywhites. It is becoming increasingly difficult to justify why Daniel Levy invested so heavily in him, given his inconsistency and frequent injury problems.
The 28-year-old was linked with a move away throughout the summer after being placed on the transfer list. Yet, for one reason or another, no deal materialised, and Thomas Frank handed him the opportunity to lead the line and prove his worth at Spurs. To his credit, he rewarded Frank’s trust on the opening day by scoring a brace against Burnley.

Tottenham forward Richarlison is struggling to find form this season.
However, Richarlison has been unable to build on that performance, finding the net only twice in his following 17 matches. He has also failed to secure a regular starting role in Dominic Solanke’s absence, further suggesting that his time at N17 may be coming to an end as Spurs aim to evolve and close the gap on their rivals.
Tottenham might not allow Richarlison to move to Everton in the winter
Recent reports have linked Richarlison with a potential return to Everton in the upcoming transfer window. The Toffees were interested in him during the summer, but a deal never progressed as they could not meet Tottenham’s asking price. Now, David Moyes is reportedly keen to bring him back as Everton look to push into the top half of the Premier League.
However, BBC journalist Giulia Bould has provided the latest update on Richarlison’s situation, casting doubt on a potential move back to Goodison Park. Speaking to the BBC, Bould said,
“The manager’s strikeforce of Beto and Thierno Barry have scored just one goal between them so far this campaign in the Premier League, so it might be time for Moyes to think again. The Blues boss has already stated he will look at strengthening his squad in January but he also warned it is a notoriously difficult window to operate in, with prices often hiked up.”
The journalist added,
“A loan could be a good fit for Everton if Spurs were open to it. The Brazil international has made just four league starts this term but there is no suggestion right now that they would be willing to let the 28-year-old go.”
Bould explains that Everton are hoping to strengthen their squad in January, but financial constraints and inflated prices could force them to adjust their expectations. A loan move for Richarlison may be their most realistic option, but Tottenham’s reluctance to lose a forward midway through the season, especially amid their ongoing injury issues, remains the biggest obstacle.
Time is running out for Richarlison to prove himself under Thomas Frank. Spurs are already exploring potential replacements for the second half of the season, a clear sign that the Brazilian has fallen down the pecking order. A move away may now be in his best interest, especially if he hopes to keep his World Cup ambitions alive.
