**Mikel Arteta**expressed his happiness with the work of summer signing Martin Zubimendi.
The midfielder moved for £55 million from **Real Sociedad**as the replacement for **Thomas Partey**next to Declan Rice. The pair have played with different players in the ten role, but their relationship has been blossoming as the Englishman goes from strength to strength and the Spaniard shows the roundedness of his game on the ball. And the manager believes even more can come from the Basque.
“The impact of Zubi on the team is unquestionable. I think what he’s doing and doing it so early in his career here, it’s very impressive and that’s what we need. Players at that level, playing consistently and helping the team, he’s going to be very positive for the team and the results of the team.
“First of all, you have to adapt to the league in the in the physical and emotional part. It's not easy. The demands that you put in. You come to a different club, different country, he's never been away from home, you have to deal with all that. He's done it brilliantly there.
“He's such a good character that is connected with everybody so fast. So, he's very loved already in the dressing room by all the staff here. He's such a talented and intelligent player. He picks up things immediately and when that happens and you have good players around you normally that's a good combination to be successful but easier to say that to get it done and he needs to continue.
“At the end when we start to put together different qualities that we have in midfield and Eberechi Eze is one and Declan Rice and Martin they play together the three of them we need certain different interactions as well and the capacity to be more unpredictable as well in term of positioning and he's brought that to the team and individually to other players as well.
“The last game is a great example [of his ability in the final third]. He hits the bar, he puts one across very close to the post. He has another action that he dribbles inside and shoots with the right foot. On set pieces been very good as well. So we need that: a total player.”
