FC Barcelona and the La Liga President, Javier Tebas, have once again been the subject of news as there has been an investigation opened on the top league official for the leakage of confidential data related to Barcelona’s VIP seats.
The investigation is currently in its most initial phase, and the matter can take up to 3 months to reach a conclusion, and if found guilty, Tebas can face several sanctions, including dismissal from his office.
Relations have not always been good between the Catalan club and the La Liga President, but this latest matter seems not to be a welcome development for Barcelona. As [Mundo Deportivo](https://www.mundodeportivo.com/futbol/fc-barcelona/20251122/1002573669/laporta-expediente-tebas-buena-noticia.html) has reported, the Blaugrana President [Joan Laporta](https://semprebarca.com/topics/joan-laporta/) talked on this matter, and was clear that this **“is not good news”.**
The top Barcelona official also made it clear that relations between his club and La Liga are quite good at this point in time:
**“This was pushed by a group, I don’t know who. Back in the day, we spoke with the president of La Liga, and this matter was resolved. I don’t think it’s good news at the moment, precisely because the relations we have with La Liga are becoming increasingly normal. I don’t know where these attempts to remove the president of La Liga come from. I’m not entirely trusting.”**
For now, it remains to be seen how this matter will evolve, but from Joan Laporta’s comments, it seems Barcelona would rather want to see Javier Tebas acquitted in this matter instead of facing a possible sanction, even though they appear to be an aggrieved party in this matter.
