'His training is terrific': David Moyes says he's open to starting Everton fringe player vs Man …

Everton manager David Moyes is going to have a real selection headache ahead of the trip to Old Trafford on Monday evening.

The international break was fairly kind to Everton with no injuries suffered to the players who were away representing their respective nations.

On Friday, Moyes did reveal that Merlin Rohl will miss a few weeks after undergoing a minor procedure on a hernia issue he was suffering.

However, the 62-year-old manager was handed some interesting decisions to make ahead of Monday’s game against Manchester United by the players available for selection.

Moyes will be aiming to secure Everton’s first consecutive win in the Premier League since the opening month of the term.

Three Everton academy prospects have trained with the senior side this week, but there is one first-team player who has really been impressing his manager.

David Moyes still wowed every day by Everton’s Seamus Coleman

Over the international break, the Republic of Ireland manager urged Moyes to play Seamus Coleman more often.

The 37-year-old right-back started both games for Ireland against Portugal and Hungary in an historic break for the Irish national side.

Having seen the veteran return to Finch Farm this week, Moyes waxed lyrical about Coleman during his press conference on Friday afternoon.

“For me, it was really good to see Seamus get the minutes and get the time,” said the Everton boss.

“It’s great he’s getting the minutes. His training is terrific and his attitude is always impeccable. He’s certainly in my thoughts, that’s for sure.”

James Tarkowski thinks Coleman is destined to become a manager, but his time on the pitch is nowhere near finished just yet.

With Everton enduring some issues at right-back, the 37-year-old is clearly giving Moyes something to consider ahead of Monday’s trip to Old Trafford.

Coleman could answer Everton’s right-back issues

With the January transfer window on the horizon, Everton News columnist Alan Myers expects Everton to sign a new right-back to bolster their options.

Jake O’Brien has largely been the answer at right-back during Moyes’ return to Merseyside.

However, Moyes has demanded more from both of his full-backs, which saw O’Brien dropped for the game against Fulham.

Ruben Amorim is expecting O’Brien to start on Monday night, but Coleman is clearly in Moyes’ thinking after his displays for both Ireland and in Everton training.

Coleman may have only played a small amount of minutes this season, but what he has shown in recent weeks has been mightily impressive.
