Liverpool lineup vs. Forest confirmed: 5 changes as Alexander Isak starts

Arne Slot has made five changes from Liverpool’s last outing against Man City, as the Reds host Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.

The head coach takes charge of Liverpool for the 50th time in the Premier League and is aiming to earn his 32nd victory. No Liverpool manager in history has won more in their opening half-century.

Despite that, he has stumbled over the line to his latest few points, with Liverpool taking just three of the last 18 points on offer.

Against Forest, Alisson returns from a hamstring injury to play his first match since September.

With Conor Bradley and Jeremie Frimpong injured, the big question ahead of this one was of who would play at right-back.

Curtis Jones and Dominik Szoboszlai both start at Anfield, with one expected to play at right-back and the other in midfield.

The two have played the position in the past but Szoboszlai has more recent experience there, having already filled in at full-back four times this season.

Elsewhere in defence, Milos Kerkez replaces Andy Robertson but Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate remain as Slot’s preferred centre-back partnership.

Meanwhile, Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister take their place in midfield behind a front line of Mo Salah, Cody Gakpo and Alexander Isak.

This is just Isak’s fourth start of the Premier League campaign and Hugo Ekitike may feel hard done to given he scored his sixth goal of the season with a strike for France over the international break.

Notably, right-back Calvin Ramsay, who has only once before been in a Premier League squad (back in 2022), makes the bench.
