Alexander Isak will start a Premier League game for the first time in more than a month when Liverpool host Nottingham Forest this afternoon. And Alisson Becker has returned in goal after seven weeks on the sidelines as one of five changes from the team that were beaten 3-0 at Manchester City last time out.
Isak hasn’t featured in any competition since being replaced at half-time of the Champions League win at Eintracht Frankfurt on October 22.
The Sweden international will lead the attack with Mohamed Salah on the right and Cody Gakpo coming back in on the left for the absent Florian Wirtz.
There are alterations in both full-back areas. Injury to Conor Bradley sees Dominik Szoboszlai shift to right-back, while Milos Kerkez has replaced the benched Andy Robertson at left-back. Ibrahima Konate and captain Virgil van Dijk continue at centre-back.
The number 10 role is instead filled by Curtis Jones, with Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Ryan Gravenberch the two deeper midfielders.
Calvin Ramsay and youngsters Rio Ngumoha and Trey Nyoni are among the substitutes.
LIVERPOOL (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Szoboszlai, Konate, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Jones, Gakpo; Isak. Subs: Mamardashvili, Gomez, Endo, Chiesa, Ekitike, Robertson, Nyoni, Ramsay, Ngumoha.
