Eagles just earned a playoff label that fans will be left unfazed by

As the NFL season goes into its final leg of the season, Bleacher Report came out with their reasons for why 21 teams are still contenders this season.

The reason that Bleacher Report's Brad Gagnon gave for being a "contender" for the playoffs is quite reasonable, to say the least.

"Repeating ain't easy, but there's no question Philadelphia will again be in the picture deep into January. For the second year in a row, it's surging at the perfect time."

Eagles still looking solid for the playoffs despite some drama

To no one's surprise, the Eagles sit comfortably at the top of the NFC East and are the number one seed in the NFC playoff picture with an 8-2 record. However, the Eagles are not without their faults.

They've done a great job at mitigating them. Specifically, the Eagles' offense has continued to come under scrutiny despite flashes of greatness and has remained effective enough to remain competent. The Eagles have lacked consistency and the big-play ability that we've been accustomed to seeing over the past several seasons.

Saquon Barkley is clearly not the same player from 2024 (which is to be expected). A.J. Brown has been vocal about his frustrations. Jalen Hurts has struggled when tasked with "carrying" the team, and the offensive line has struggled as well, dealing with injuries. Despite everything, the Eagles have still managed to will their way to an 8-2 record.

While an inconsistent offense is at the forefront of Eagles fans' minds, it should dissuade anyone from thinking they are anything short of being a championship contender. Repeating is extremely difficult and, more than likely, not something that can happen; however, there is too much talent to think otherwise.

With a comfortable lead in the NFC East, the Eagles still have plenty of time to continue to "figure it out" and hit their stride moving into the playoffs, hopefully for another Lombardi trophy.
