Liverpool team confirmed for the Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest at Anfield.

The Reds return to action following the international break and head into the game against the backdrop of five Premier League losses in six games - leaving the current champions some eight points adrift of leaders Arsenal.

Isak, signed for a British record fee of £125 million on summer transfer deadline day, has endured a soft launch to his Liverpool career and has been well short of match fitness. Slot has suggested that he hopes to fast-track Isak to full fitness - and he comes back into the XI after a groin injury to replace Hugo Ekitike up front.

That is one of five changes from the 3-0 loss against Manchester City last time out. Alisson Becker returns in goal, having missed the previous eight games with a hamstring issue. Giorgi Mamardashvili is back to the bench after deputising.

With Conor Bradley suffering an injury on Northern Ireland duty and Jeremie Frimpong still sidelined, it appears that Dominik Szoboszlai or Curtis Jones could feature at right-back. The latter replaces Bradley while there is a change on the left-hand side of defence as Milos Kerkez comes back in for Andy Robertson.

With Florian Wirtz absent having picked up an issue representing Germany, Cody Gakpo is back in from the outset on the left flank.

On the bench, there is a spot for Calvin Ramsay. He has not been part of a Premier League squad for 1113 days, which was a 2-1 win at Tottenham Hotspur in November 2022.

Liverpool: Alisson, Van Dijk, Konate, Kerkez, Szoboszlai, Isak, Mac Allister, Salah, Jones, Gakpo, Gravenberch.

Subs: Mamardashvili, Gomez, Endo, Chiesa, Ekitike, Robertson, Nyoni, Ramsay, Ngumoha.
