The Premier League have dropped two statements after Nottingham Forest's goal against Liverpool was allowed to stand. The incident came from a corner, which the Reds did not deal with before Murillo slammed it into the bottom corner.

VAR check it for offside. Dan Ndoye was blocking Alisson's vision, but perhaps in line with the last man.

It means Arne Slot's side find themselves 1-0 down at half-time. And the Premier League's match centre account on X (Twitter) have now released a statement to explain why the goal at Anfield was allowed to stand.

"The referee’s call of goal was checked and confirmed by VAR – with it deemed that Ndoye was not in the line of vision of Allison and did not make an action that impacted an opponent," the statement said.
