Burnley 0-2 Chelsea: Chelsea Post Match Player Ratings

Chelsea continued their promising run of form in the league with a comfortable 2-0 win over Burnley.

An early kick-off after the international break is never ideal, and Enzo Maresca opted to rest several key players after a staggered return from their respective camps.

As a result, both of the Blues' goalscorers in this game did not feature for their respective nations.

Pedro Neto opened the scoring with a fantastic diving header, whilst Enzo Fernandez wrapped up the win with a simple tap-in finish after being set up fantastically by substitute Marc Guiu.

A notable absence was Moises Caicedo, who benefitted from a full rest for the first time in nearly two years. Andrey Santos played in the midfielders place, and the fact that the Blues were able to match their usual dominance without Caicedo is incredibly promising.

Burnley dominated the opening half hour but lacked the attacking confidence to finish their chances, and could not find a way back into the game after going behind.

Here is how every Chelsea player rated after the 2-0 victory:

Starting Lineup

Robert Sanchez - 7

Largely comfortable for Sanchez, who picks up a third consecutive clean sheet. Some nervy decisions in the opening few moments, but settled into the game nicely.

Reece James - 7

A proactive performance from the Chelsea skipper, who was constantly looking for ways to switch up his team's attack. Taken off at halftime - likely in preparation for Tuesday's game against Barcelona.

Tosin Adarabioyo - 8

A very solid showing from the defender - who has come under some scrutiny in recent weeks. The most accurate passer on the pitch.

Trevoh Chalobah - 7

Has continued to be a mainstay in Chelsea's backline, and for good reason. Some well timed recoveries in the box, especially in the first half.

Marc Cucurella - 7.5

Played a key role in the Blues' opener - controlling Tosin's long ball in the Burnley box amid pressure from two defenders. Energetic and proactive as always.

Andrey Santos - 9

Tasked with filling Moises Caicedo's defensive duties, which he did tremendously. Made some crucial interceptions during an early period of dominance for the home side. Rewarded with a full runout, which in turn rewards Caicedo with a full rest.

Enzo Fernandez - 8.5

Was absent from international duty to make himself available for the Blues; Enzo is key to Maresca's style of football and put in a strong performance here, coming alive in the latter stages of the game and earning a goal for his hard work.

Pedro Neto - 8.5

A potential risk to play the full match with the Barcelona tie looming, but nonetheless put in a top class performance on the right wing. Made his diving header look easy as he arrived at the far post with a well timed run.

Jamie Gittens - 7

Did not find himself in the Burnley box as much as he would have liked, but made up for it with a fantastic looping cross into Neto for the opener. Continues to provide healthy competition on the left wing with Alejandro Garnacho.

Joao Pedro - 6

A frustrating afternoon for Pedro, who was relentlessly tracked and marked by Burnley's midfield. Could not register a shot on target in the game but showed determination to get on the ball.

Liam Delap - 5

Was at his best when linking play and creating chances for teammates around him - but will continue to be frustrated at his empty goal tally this season. His decision making continues to be average, with several big chances squandered.

Substitutes

Benoit Badiashile - 6

Made his first return to the pitch in nearly two months, and offered some needed toughness and physicality - notably picking up a booking for a tussle with Burnley defender Maxime Esteve.

Malo Gusto - 6

Brought on in place of Delap, and was not as effective in an unorthodox midfield role.

Marc Guiu - 7

A great cameo off the bench, with the standout being his run into the Burnley box, assisting Enzo Fernandez whilst outmuscling the opposition defender.
