The Arizona Cardinals are preparing for Week 12 against the Jacksonville Jaguars while managing multiple injury designations ahead of Friday’s practice evaluations. The team’s focus extends beyond health concerns as they seek to improve their record after winning just once in their last eight games.
Arizona has been actively exploring options at running back to address depth needs. The Cardinals conducted workouts with three running back candidates this week: Tyrion Davis-Price, Sincere McCormick, and Nyheim Hines. According to KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson, the organization has made a decision on one tryout.

McCormick’s path to the NFL reflects determination and resilience through multiple setbacks. At UTSA, he accumulated nearly 4,000 rushing yards and earned both Freshman of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year accolades before entering the 2022 draft.
When teams passed on him during the selection process, he signed with the Raiders but spent his first season on injured reserve without seeing action. His breakthrough opportunity came in 2024 when injuries created openings in the rotation.
Over five games with two starts, McCormick carried the ball 39 times for 183 yards, averaging 4.7 yards per attempt. His performance demonstrated vision and decisiveness running between the tackles before an ankle injury ended that stretch.
McCormick finished the 2025 preseason on the Raiders’ waived list, then spent time on the San Francisco 49ers’ practice squad before the team released him this week. His profile as a compact back measuring around 5 feet 9 inches and just over 200 pounds limits his upside in certain areas.
He projects as a natural fit in zone-based running schemes where his field vision and pad level provide value. For teams seeking injury insurance at the position, McCormick offers reliability and consistent production in limited opportunities.
