Liverpool players ratings vs Nottingham Forest as defeat mounts further pressure on Arne Slot

Liverpool put in another disappointing performance after falling to a 3-0 defeat at home.

The Reds needed a big performance after the international break, but it appears nothing has changed.

Poor defending yet again saw them fall to a 3-0 defeat, with their attack also far from convincing despite a bright start.

That is now eight defeats in their last 11 games, with the pressure starting to pile upon Arne Slot, with fans starting to get a little worried. Here are how the players rated at Anfield.

Defence

Alisson Becker: 5 – Despite the ball, technically, being in the back of his net twice in the first half, he could not have done anything about either of them. He also couldn’t have done anything about their actual second goal, while the third he pulled off a decent save and was not helped by those in front of him.

Dominik Szoboszlai: 6 – Did well considering he is not a full-back, but as everyone would have expected, he was much more effective when drifting into midfield. Need him back in the middle next game, though.

Ibrahima Konate: 2 – A terrible first half from the Frenchman. Gave away a needless corner that led to the opening goal, while he was very lucky their second was ruled out for a controversial handball after more poor defending. Was just error after error, with the centre-back really not helping himself among his ongoing contract saga.

Virgil van Dijk: 4 – Didn’t really do a lot and equally had a few moments that were clearly a lapse in concentration. Not the worst in the defence but not his best match.

Milos Kerkez: 5 – Looked a little better going forward in comparison to recent weeks and whipped some nice balls into the box, but still lacked conviction in defence at points.

Midfield:

Ryan Gravenberch: 5 – Started well and was dominant, but the entire midfield got overrun by Forest and none could have the impact they would have wanted.

Alexis Mac Allister: 6 – Almost scored but was cleared off the line well by Elliott Anderson, although he was the most forward-thinking in the middle of the park.

Curtis Jones: 5 – As always, he worked hard and showed some good footwork, but was not as influential as he would have wanted after being given a rare chance from the start.

Attack:

Mohamed Salah: 7 – Looked closer to his best and caused former teammate Neco Williams some problems. Showed quick feet and was a danger on most occasions with the ball, something that is a good sign given his start to the season. Probably Liverpool’s best player in the game, although this was not hard.

Alexander Isak: 4 – Was not in the game at all and looked a little leggy, still not showing enough since his move. A worrying start to life at Liverpool and given that he is supposed to be fully fit, just does not look like he fits into this system.

Cody Gakpo: 5 – Had a few good runs and looked like one of the only players giving it a good go, but also could not do much at all.

Substitutes

Hugo Ekitike: 5 – Big cheer from the crowd when he came on, but couldn’t have the impact they wanted. Made a few good runs and worked hard, never really tested the goalkeeper.

Federico Chiesa: 5 – Was his lively self when coming on towards the end, but did not get the ball enough.

Andy Robertson: 5 – Had an excellent week with his country, but came on in this one with the game already lost.

Rio Ngumoha: N/A
