Opinion: Everton teenager knocking on David Moyes’ door after completely dominating the Premier …

Everton have seen a number of their young prospects make an impact when it comes to training at Finch Farm, but not many have showcased their talent in the first team squad.

The Everton squad have now returned to training on the back of the final international break of the year.

David Moyes is preparing himself for life without Iliman Ndiaye and Idrissa Gana Gueye, who will be departing for the Africa Cup of Nations soon.

As a result, Moyes has introduced some of Everton’s academy players into training at Finch Farm over recent weeks.

The Toffees will also need to have one eye on developing their young prospects, with a real lack of impact coming from the academy into the first team.

Harrison Armstrong is impressing on loan at Preston North End having struggled to earn regular minutes under the 62-year-old.

However, Moyes may now have another youngster from Everton’s U21s side knocking on his door soon.

As other players have experienced, Everton is not necessarily the place for young players to express their talent at senior level.

This is something that the Friedkins will surely be keen to change over the coming years.

Aside from Armstrong, Isaac Heath is impressing during his own loan with Accrington Stanley in League Two.

Where will Everton finish this season?

Ahead of Pickford is the likes of Mark Travers and even Tom King in the goalkeeping pecking order.
