An eighth defeat in 11 games, that leaves Liverpool in the bottom half of the table, as the Reds slumped to a new low this season.
Liverpool 0-3 Nottingham Forest
Premier League (12) | Anfield
November 22, 2025
Goals: Murillo 33′, Savona 46′, Gibbs-White 79′
Alisson – 5 (out of 10)
It was great to see Alisson back but having made one save, he was picking the ball out of the net after Murillo’s opener.
Made another important stop to prevent Forest from going 3-0 up before they actually did.
Must be wondering what team he’s come back into.
Dominik Szoboszlai – 6
Even on a dire day, Szoboszlai came away with his reputation intact.
Moved to right-back, he displayed a good range of passing and saw a deflected effort fly wide, but is so wasted there.
Was asked to move into midfield again, further confusing things once more.
Ibrahima Konate – 4
Liverpool are struggling this season, but watching Konate this season is even worse.
He was dreadful in the first half, being at the scene of the crime for Murillo’s goal and the disallowed effort.
Substituted in the second half and wasn’t a big miss! What must Joe Gomez be thinking watching on?!

Virgil van Dijk – 5
Van Dijk didn’t do a lot wrong, doing his best to hold the defence together while Konate struggled alongside him.
That said, if you’re the centre-back captain and you lose 3-0 at home, you’ve not had a display that will live long in the memory.
Milos Kerkez – 5
Kerkez was given a chance in place of Andy Robertson and didn’t do anything particularly wrong.
Defensively, the Hungarian leaves you anxious, even though there were no costly errors here, but he did try and bring pace and effectiveness to the attack.
An improved display from him individually.
Ryan Gravenberch – 5
Like so many, Gravenberch started promisingly but faded before half-time, with more needed against hard-to-break-down opponents.
He became anonymous as the game went on, again asked to drop into centre-back as Slot played his usual wildcard there.
Alexis Mac Allister – 5
While some were lacking fight at Anfield, Mac Allister couldn’t be accused of that.
He was somehow denied early on the line in the early exchanges, but still far from his best and looks tired so often in games.

Curtis Jones – 5
Back in the team with Florian Wirtz absent, Jones shone to begin with, summed up by one delightful early flick on the touchline.
He was impressive in and out of possession until Liverpool fell behind, but struggled from then on, including at right-back after Konate’s substitution.
Mohamed Salah – 6
Salah made a great start to the game, constantly getting the better of former Liverpool man Neco Williams and looking hungry.
His influence waned, though, and goals and assists continue to evade him a worrying amount this season.

Cody Gakpo – 5
A weak tackle summed up his performance, which lacked fight too often.
A good run teed up Mac Allister for his big chance, and there were sporadic moments of attacking quality, but he can be so frustrating to watch.
You’re a powerful 6’4 winger, Cody – act like it.
Alexander Isak – 3
We all dreamed of this being the game where Isak’s Liverpool career exploded into life, but that was wishful thinking.
The Reds’ record signing only had one touch in the opening 20 minutes and he couldn’t get in tune with those around him.
Lost all seven duels, had the fewest touches of any starting player, and looks miles short of both fitness and form.
Why was he starting this one and not the one vs. PSV on Wednesday instead?!
Substitutes
Hugo Ekitike (on for Konate, 55′) – – 6
Certainly looked livelier than Isak, but that’s not saying much. Should have started.
Andy Robertson (on for Kerkez, 68′) – – 5
He had more fun with Scotland in midweek! Made an important block late on to deny a fourth.
Federico Chiesa (on for Isak, 68′) – – 5
Couldn’t have much of an impact – the game almost felt over by the time he came on. Never lacks effort.
Rio Ngumoha (on for Jones, 78′) – – 5
No time to make a proper impact, thrown on and within seconds a third went in, which seemed predictable.
Subs not used: Mamardashvili, Gomez, Ramsay, Endo, Nyoni
Arne Slot – 3

Do we now have to have a serious conversation?
Football is too knee-jerk, but six defeats in the first 12 Premier League matches is poor for any team, let alone the champions!
After a good start, Liverpool faded, and what is most worrying is that they are lacking fight as soon as adversity comes their way.
That starts with the manager, who is all sea tactically, with endless attackers on the pitch in most games and no cohesion.
The players weren’t terrible, but they did seem to lack a plan of how to actually break down their opponents, which is a coaching issue.
This is relegation form, and the Reds are in the bottom half of the table and on negative goal difference in late November.
