Liverpool’s title defence is slipping, and the atmosphere around the club reflects it.
The Premier League is in a tight phase where every point matters, especially at the top.
Arsenal have set a strong pace, and Manchester City remain in the mix.
Liverpool cannot afford mistakes.
Yet the Reds have fallen into a difficult run.
A run that has raised questions about form, confidence, and execution.
Fans watched another off night at Anfield, and frustration was clear.
The team started well but could not maintain control.
It was the kind of game where the early moments looked promising, only for things to fall apart.
Supporters wanted answers, and the manager had to speak.
He did not hide. He did not shift blame.
He faced the situation head-on.
After the game, Arne Slot gave a blunt and honest assessment after the 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest, a result that deepened Liverpool’s Premier League crisis.
The Reds have now lost six of their last seven league games, leaving them eight points behind Arsenal.
Slot said, “Another big disappointed.”
“Started off quite well.”
“Got our chances.”
“Throughout the whole game they threw themselves in front of every ball.”
“After the first goal we weren’t able to play the same as we did in the first half hour.”
He admitted the scale of the slump, adding, “We are in a very bad spell.”
“It’s that simple.”
“We also know in a few days we play Champions League.”
Slot made it clear that he takes the blame.
He said: “If things go well or things go bad it’s always my responsibility.”
“We weren’t able to create enough. I tried to adjust a few things that didn’t really work out. We weren’t able to score a goal.”
He also stressed he still believes in his squad, “We have quality players.”
“It’s my job to get the best out of them.”
“I am not at the moment.”
“That’s why I say it’s my responsibility.”
And he ended with a call for resilience, “Keep our head up.”
“Work incredibly hard and try to turn things around.”
“It’s been difficult to this until now.”
Liverpool now face a tough response test, with Champions League football only days away.
