Liverpool dropped to 11th in the Premier League table after suffering a miserable 3-0 defeat at the hands of Nottingham Forest on Saturday - and Arne Slot is feeling the pressure

Arne Slot admitted that the buck must stop with him when it comes to attributing blame for Liverpool's dreadful form. Defeat by Nottingham Forest on Saturday means Liverpool have now lost six of their last seven matches in the Premier League.
The Reds lost just four times in Slot's debut season as they romped to the title, but things have been very different in 2025/26. The Dutchman's side now sit 11th in the league on 18 points after Forest dominated the game to win 3-0 at Anfield - their second straight victory at Liverpool's home ground.
Murillo opened the scoring from a set piece before Igor Jesus had a goal ruled out by VAR for a handball. Liverpool didn't make the most of that reprieve as Nicolo Savona made it 2-0 straight after half-time.
Slot brought on Hugo Ekitike for Ibrahima Konate to try and wrestle the momentum, but his side did not respond and Morgan Gibbs-White put an exclamation mark on Forest's first away win of the season by making it 3-0.
Slot is now under mounting pressure, with his selections and tactical decisions being questioned by Liverpool supporters as their slump continues. "Another big disappointment. We started off quite well for the first half an hour. We conceded the 1-0, and we weren't able to play the way we did in the first half hour," Slot told BBC Match of the Day.
"I don't know (about the first goal). I heard it wasn't offside, so if it's not offside, there's nothing to debate. We created and were waiting for us to score a goal. The set piece changed everything, and they scored two.
"If things go well or things go bad, it's my responsibility. We weren't able to create enough. I tried to adjust a few things, but it didn't work out. We were unable to score a goal. You never know in this stadium, if you score a goal, then things can work out."

Asked about Savona's goal, which came in the 46th minute, Slot added: "Of course, it was damaging. It was already hard to be 1-0 against a team blocking everything. It's that simple. In a few days, we have to play in the Champions League again and then play three Premier League games in a short space.
"Keep your head up and work incredibly hard. We are trying every single day. It's always helpful to have experienced and quality players. It's not working out at this moment."
Liverpool face PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League at Anfield on Wednesday before travelling to West Ham in the league on next Sunday. It is the start of an unrelenting period of fixtures which could pile even more pressure on Slot.
