Team News: O’Neill makes three changes for Celtic as Simpson-Pusey drops out

**Martin O’Neill has made three changes to the Celtic side for tonight’s match away to St Mirren.**

The last domestic match, at home to Kilmarnock seems a while ago with the search for a permanent manager continuing.

Tony Ralston and Kieran Tierney come into the side in the full-back positions with Arne Engels replacing Luke McCowan in midfield.

Despite having to pull out of the Tunisia squad Sebastian [Tounekti](https://videocelts.com/2025/11/blogs/latest-news/sebastian-tounekti-suffers-injury-blow/) retains his place on the left wing.

Jahmai Simpson-Pusey made his debut in the win over Kilmarnock but doesn’t make the squad. Despite being hospitalised last Saturday on Scotland u-21 duty Colby Donovan is named among the nine substitutes.

Celtic faced St Mirren in the opening SPFL match of this season, winning 1-0 with a late goal from McCowan.

#### CUP FINAL PREVIEW?

It was a typical performance from Stephen Robinson’s side, they pushed Celtic all the way. Putting in the type of performances that has taken then to the League Cup Final.

Surprisingly their cup form hasn’t been replicated in the [SPFL Premiership](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/scottish-premiership/table). In their last SPFL match they lost 3-0 at home to Hibs.

After 11 matches Saints have just two victories to their name, going into tonight’s match in ninth place, just two points ahead of bottom placed Livingston.

Celtic face St Mirren again in three weeks at Hampden, before then the hoops have a very demanding run of fixtures.

Europa League ties against Feyenoord and Roma are included in that run as well as a home match with Hearts.

Kevin Clancy is tonight’s referee with Matthew MacDermid on VAR duty.

It is Celtic’s fifth match since Brendan Rodgers resigned. A win tonight would cut the gap at the top of the Premiership table down to four points with Hearts facing Aberdeen tomorrow. Next up for Celtic is a trip to Rotterdam on Thursday to face Feyenoord.
