NFL star and college football champion Breiden Fehoko, 29, announced his retirement after he was released by the Pittsburgh Steelers before the start of the 2025 season in August

Breiden Fehoko announced his retirement from the NFL after spending five seasons in the league.
The 29-year-old posted on social media that he was retiring after playing for the Los Angeles Chargers and Pittsburgh Steelers. The star originally went undrafted in the 2020 NFL Draft and signed with Los Angeles as an undrafted free agent, making his debut against the Buffalo Bills.

After spending three seasons with the Chargers, Fehoko signed with the Steelers, which ultimately was his final stop in the league. The news comes after Kay Adams criticized the Steelers for what she perceived as one of the worst deals in NFL history.

"Sometimes in life you just get a sense of fulfillment & for me it’s now. 29 years old and I couldn’t be happier with the journey of where this game has taken me," his 10-photo carousel on Instagram announcing his retirement began. Fehoko was released before the start of the 2025 NFL season, amassing 939 total tackles and 99 sacks
"To my family you guys never let me quit and more importantly never let me stop believing in myself. I’m thankful for every coach, teammate, trainer, opponent, agent, etc. because you guys made me a better version of myself every time I stepped on that football field.
"I’m not a fan of long novels but I’m glad to say I’m retiring from this great sport of football. I’m so blessed to have a head start in life & I look forward to my next chapter with my family. I’ll miss the team dinners, bus rides, training camps, and everything in between. I won’t miss conditioning. I love Yall."

Fans on social media posted their congratulations on the star's career and decision to call it quits after his time in the league. "Congratulations but I have to say, I’ll miss you in the Steelers sidelines and practice field. It’s been a blast but looking forward to your takes here on social media. They have been epic," a fan posted.
"Congrats bro! Unfortunately it at all comes to an end at some point but the possibilities are endless! Best of luck. See you around X," another added.
Current Tennessee Titans star Sebastian Joseph-Day, who was Fehoko's teammate in Los Angeles, also sent a message to the star upon his retirement.

Before his stint in the league, Fehoko played for Texas Tech from 2015 to 2016.
After spending time with the Red Raiders, Fehoko played for LSU from 2017 to 2019. Of note, he was part of the 2019 LSU team that won the national championship in 2020.
"2019 LSU will stand the test of time. Everyone will forever be compared to that team! Congrats on a successful career and enjoy retirement," a fan wrote, commemorating his career in both the NFL and college football.
