Lions/Giants national anthem singer is daughter of ‘Saturday Night Live’ legend

DETROIT - The Detroit Lions are bringing in an up-and-coming Nashville recording artist to perform the national anthem before the game against the Giants.

The team announced singer/songwriter, Jamison Belushi, will sing "The Star-Spangled Banner" right before the 1:00 p.m. kickoff at Ford Field on Sunday, November 23rd.

Belushi is also an actress known for “The Last Summer,” “Karate Ghost,” and “The Stranger in My Home.”

Her father, Jim Belushi," starred on “Saturday Night Live” for two seasons in the 80s, was a member of the “Blues Brothers,” had his own sitcom with “According to Jim,” and starred in many movies like “K-9,” “Curly Sue,” “Canadian Bacon,” and “Trading Places.”

The Lions are 6-4, in third in the NFC North behind Green Bay and Chicago. The Giants are 2-9, in last place in the NFC East.

Following tomorrow’s game, the Lions will host Green Bay on Thanksgiving Day.

Detroit native, CeCe Winans will perform the national anthem on Thanksgiving, and newly inducted Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Detroit’s Jack White," will be the halftime performer in a show executive produced by Eminem and his longtime manager, Paul Rosenberg.
