BURROW OUT ANOTHER WEEK
Despite practicing in full on Thursday and Friday this week, Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow will not return on Sunday against the New England Patriots. Instead, Burrow is likely to return for Cincinnati’s Thanksgiving clash with the Baltimore Ravens. The news was first reported this morning by NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport.

Burrow suffered a foot injury in Week 2 and was initially replaced by QB Jake Browning, but the Bengals then acquired Joe Flacco. Flacco will start on Sunday against the Patriots, although he’ll be down his top target in WR Ja’Marr Chase, who was suspended after spitting on S Jalen Ramsey last week against the Steelers.
STEELERS CONGRATULATE RIVERHOUNDS
The Pittsburgh Steelers offered their congratulations to the Pittsburgh Riverhounds for winning the United Soccer League (USL) Championship. The USL is the tier below the MLS, and the Riverhounds took down the title with a win over FC Tulsa in penalty kicks.
The win was the first championship for the Riverhounds in franchise history. The Steelers will look to bring another championship to Pittsburgh later this year if they can win the Super Bowl. Interim manager Rob Vincent won all seven games he coached for Pittsburgh after replacing Bob Lilley, who was placed on administrative leave. While the Riverhounds have made the playoffs every year since 2017, they had yet to win a playoff game until this year.
STEELERS SCOUTING BYU-CINCINNATI
The Steelers are getting a look at one of the top quarterback prospects in the 2026 NFL Draft, as the team has a scout in attendance at the BYU-Cincinnati game. Cincinnati QB Brendan Sorsby is one of the top prospects in the ’26 quarterback class.
Neil Meyer of Front Office News reported the Steelers have a scout in attendance.

Sorsby has risen up the ranks this season and is projected to be a Day 2 prospect as it stands right now. Pittsburgh will also get a look at BYU WR Chase Roberts, who is a draftable prospect, as well as Cincinnati DT Dontay Corleone and TE Joe Royer, both of whom could be Day 2 selections.
In addition to Cincinnati-BYU, the Steelers are scouting a matchup between two potential first-round QB prospects in USC-Oregon. USC’s Jayden Maiava and Oregon’s Donte Moore have risen up draft boards over the course of the college football season.
Nathan Bishop of ScoopDuck reported that the Steelers have a scout in attendance.

BRANDIN COOKS OFFICIALLY WAIVED
The New Orleans Saints officially waived WR Brandin Cooks on Saturday, days after it was reported that he would be placed on waivers by the team.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the news of Cooks being officially waived.
New Orleans officially waived veteran WR Brandin Cooks today, per source. His name appears on today’s NFL wire.

The move was held up due to contractual issues the two sides were working out, and Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio had reported that a poison pill New Orleans added to the contract could’ve prevented him from being waived due to it being in violation of NFL rules. The two sides clearly were able to work something out, however, and Cooks will hit waivers and be free to sign with any team if he clears.
