Report reveals the timeline for Tad’s investigation into Javier Tebas over alleged leak of confidential Barcelona data

FC Barcelona and the La Liga President Javier Tebas have long remained in one another’s crosshairs, and the two have publicly traded barbs over several matters in the last few years, even though things seem to have improved between them lately.

One of the matters between these two parties has been that of the recognition of income from the VIP boxes at the renovated Spotify Camp Nou. And latest reports on this matter indicate that this matter might land the top league official in a difficult spot.

As Diario AS has reported, Tebas is being investigated for a very serious infraction, i.e., revealing very confidential data of FC Barcelona related to the VIP Boxes case.

The TAD is set to open proceedings against Tebas, and this process will begin with the appointment of an investigator, who will then present a proposed resolution within a month’s time, and will include any arguments deemed appropriate by the league official.

After that, the investigator will put his proposed resolution before TAD, which can ratify or modify it. This whole process will take around 3 months, and once a decision has been reached, it will be immediately enforceable.

In theory, there are three possible sanctions if Javier Tebas is found guilty. He can face a public reprimand, a temporary disqualification (from two to twelve months), or even dismissal from his office. For now, it remains to be seen how this new episode involving Barcelona and Tebas will pan out.

Despite being the apparent aggrieved party, Laporta’s remarks indicate that the club would prefer Tebas not to face serious punishment.
