Newcastle United's injured £55million man Yoane Wissa dropped a big hint that he was edging ever closer to a return during the 2-1 celebrations against Manchester City.
The deadline day signing has not kicked a ball for Newcastle yet but he made his presence felt after the game by heading down to the hallowed turf to join in the fun at full-time. The Sky Sports cameras had picked out Wissa watching on from the stands but he could soon be getting a much closer view of the action.
Described as being in a "good place" Wissa's journey down to the tunnel was a clear sign that he will soon be adding another dimension to Eddie Howe's side. For the first time since arriving from Brentford and being handed the No 9 shirt, he was part of a lap of honour in the Premier League after being persuaded by William Osula to get involved.
A smiling Wissa could be seen as he made his way off the field with three points in the bag. And it made you wonder just how exciting this Newcastle team could be with Wissa involved alongside Nick Woltemade and the host of options Howe has out wide with Jacob Murphy, Harvey Barnes, Anthony Gordon, and Anthony Elanga all vying for places, while Osula is also to come back.
The truth is, Howe could soon have a formidable and scary strike force at his disposal. Wissa seems desperate to be part of that right now.
Harvey Barnes avoided the axe at half-time
Another manager may well have hooked Harvey Barnes at half-time after his two horror misses at the Leazes End. But not Eddie Howe who opted to use those misses as fuel to get the best out of his forward.
Barnes looked down and out after sending an effort wide from Jacob Murphy's cross before the break. But he emerged with the wind in his sails after a half-time gee up from Howe.
Howe explained his Press conference why he persisted with Barnes despite having Anthony Elanga at his disposal.
He said: "Harvey never really gets affected by missing – that's a great asset to have as a goalscorer and he's certainly that. His record as a wide player is incredible in front of goal.
"The first goal was probably the hardest of the lot, it was an unbelievable finish; the second one was about his instincts and being in the right place at the right time.
"I'm really, really pleased for him. He's a great person, a great professional. He always gives his best and it was great to see him rewarded with the two goals today."
What sparked Man City fury as Ruben Dias speaks out
City were in a fluster as they left the pitch and could not regain their composure after Harvey Barnes' second goal.
Aftewards, Ruben Dias explained exactly what rattled City and why their screams of frustration could be heard from the terraces.
Dias pointed to the fact that Gianluigi Donnarumma felt he'd been fouled or blocked by Barnes. He said after the game: "The second goal, Gigio is in his place, he's being pushed out. And there's no consequence. It's allowed. I had the chance to see it back, I didn't even realise it on the pitch.
"I found it weird that he was out of position, so we immediately knew something was wrong. But I managed to see the review and it's Barnes pushing him away from the goal. We're so picky with certain contacts, but one like this with the keeper, you allow it? It is what it is. If that's the rule, fine. But let us do the same."
