Browns start Shedeur Sanders at quarterback in Las Vegas: Crowquill

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders gets his first NFL start today against the Las Vegas Raiders. Browns fans hope he fares better against the 2-8 Raiders than he did in his second-half appearance last week against the Baltimore Ravens completing just four passes for 47 yards.

Having a full week of practice with the starters should help Sanders be more comfortable against the Raiders, who may be missing star edge rusher Maxx Crosby.

Expectations are high for Sanders provided he can remedy two habits that get him into trouble — holding on to the ball too long and scrambling backward — both of which lead to sacks and turnovers.

Las Vegas is favored by four points, but the Browns could get their third win with another sterling effort from the defense and a little help from the offense.

Raiders win, 21-17.
