The Premier League is heading into another busy January window, and winger Antoine Semenyo is one of the names on every major club’s radar.
The Bournemouth forward has a release clause that becomes active at the start of 2026, and that alone has sparked interest from several big sides.
Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham are all weighing up a move, and the competition is expected to heat up quickly because the clause is time-sensitive.
Any club that wants him must act fast and with conviction.
Semenyo’s rise has been impressive.
He has been one of Bournemouth’s most explosive players, and that makes him a rare market opportunity.
Clubs know that forwards with his profile and form are difficult to find mid-season.
Liverpool in particular have been monitoring him closely.
Sporting director Richard Hughes knows the player well from the deal that took him to Bournemouth from Bristol City in 2023, and the Reds have not replaced Luis Díaz properly.
DaveOCKOP revealed exclusively that Liverpool opened early discussions with Bournemouth in the midde of November over a possible deal for the 25-year-old attacker.
Bournemouth’s general manager, Tim Bezbatchenko, also made it clear that the club won’t block a transfer if Liverpool or Real Madrid decide to step forward for Semenyo.
All of this places Semenyo in a transfer race that feels very real.
For Arsenal, the situation around their left wing and future planning adds another interesting layer.
But their full stance only becomes clear once you study their financial limits, their squad makeup and what their long-term strategy looks like.
According to Football London, Arsenal are not expected to enter the race for Semenyo in January, and this is a boost for the Reds.
Despite interest from rivals, the Gunners are planning a quiet window after a heavy summer under sporting director Andrea Berta.
They remain within Premier League PSR rules but are operating close to UEFA’s Squad Cost Ratio limits, which cap spending at 70% of revenue.
Without a major sal, which is unlikely, they cannot make a £60m-plus move.
Arsenal also feel their squad is strong and balanced, so they see no need for big additions mid-season.
Semenyo has spoken openly about his ambitions.
In 2024, he said, “I am an Arsenal fan… I don’t conflict the two with my job. It is great to play against Arsenal, a team I have watched all my life and I want to play for the top clubs as well. In order for that to happen I need to prove it.”
He also added, “Any team that plays Champions League, Europa [League] — that’s the aim… It’s going to take goals… consistent performances… But I’ve worked all my life for that and I’m just going to continue working hard. That’s my mentality.”
Liverpool, meanwhile, remain firmly in the mix.
With a clear need on the left and a sporting director who already knows the player, their interest is concrete—and the window could open the door for a decisive move.
