Jalyx Hunt's beautiful tribute for Cowboys defender Marshawn Kneeland in Week 12

The Philadelphia Eagles joined the NFL earlier this month in sending thoughts and prayers to the Dallas Cowboys after the sad passing of defensive end Marshawn Kneeland.

Players around the NFL will be wearing special cleats for special causes to show their support. Eagles defensive end Jalyx Hunt will be doing something for his friend Kneeland.

Hunt's cause on his cleat includes the number for the suicide hotline and a picture of him and Kneeland together. The picture with them together has a story behind it as Hunt talked about his time with Kneeland and how they became friends.

"Marshawn and I, we started this journey together. I met him, seems like I've known him all my life, but I met him beginning of 2024 for pre draft work. Through that process it's really unique so was with him everyday, annoying me, I'm annoying him. Von was along on that journey with us and through that, we got really close and when everyone got drafted, when he went second round to the Cowboys, we all called him, super excited for him."

Hunt's great tribute for his friend Kneeland

Over the last year and a half, Kneeland and Hunt have stayed in touch and celebrated each other's successes on the football field. It started before the NFL and continued on.

Hunt will be showing off his cleats in Week 12 as the Eagles take on the Cowboys in a critical NFC East showdown. If Philly wins the game, it will put them one step closer to winning the division within the next week or two.

Hunt's story of his tribute to his friend is a reminder that football is just a game and there are bigger things in life than the sport. There may be a rivalry game on Sunday, but with it being Dallas's first home game since Kneeland's passing, there will be a lot of heavy hearts in Arlington, including Hunt.
