Everton’s defence will have to be on top form on Monday evening when they face Manchester United, aiming to climb into the top half of the Premier League.
Everton sit on 15 points from 11 games in the Premier League table, knowing that a win will take them above Liverpool for the first time in 11 years at this stage of the campaign.
It will be a tough ask for David Moyes, who has never won a Premier League game as the away manager at Old Trafford, and the likes of Jordan Pickford will be key to his success.
However, the Toffees already know how to nullify United’s biggest goal threat – with Bryan Mbeumo failing to perform against Everton during his time at Brentford.

Everton have yet to concede to Bryan Mbeumo ahead of Man United clash
Bryan Mbeumo spent four years in the Premier League at Brentford, helping the Bees to consolidate themselves as a mid-table side, before a huge move to Manchester United in the summer.
However, while Mbeumo has a solid record against the likes of Tottenham, Chelsea, Liverpool and more, he’s never scored or registered an assist against Everton.
What is your prediction for Man United vs Everton?
Mbeumo has faced off against the Toffees eight times, winning just twice – but crucially, he never recorded a single goal contribution in that time.

All but one of those fixtures saw Mbeumo remain on the field of play for the entire 90 minutes, and Everton managed to concede just three goals in the final six games that Mbeumo featured in.
The United star will be supplied with chances by better players at Old Trafford but for now, the Toffees can take solace in the fact that he’s struggled against them.
David Moyes needs to finally end his Old Trafford hoodoo with Everton
Everton don’t have a good record away at Manchester United.
The last time they picked up a result at Old Trafford was in October 2021, when Andros Townsend’s second-half equaliser was enough to earn a draw.
That was when Rafael Benitez was manager, with the Toffees since having had three different bosses at the helm.

Everton’s last five visits to Manchester United
David Moyes’ record at Old Trafford is not great when he’s been in the away dugout, winning just once in a Carabao Cup clash whilst he was managing West Ham United – despite winning the last Monday Night Football clash between the two clubs.
The Scot will need to buck that trend to take Everton into the top half, and stopping Mbeumo will be just one part of the challenge.
