Having secured a comprehensive 4-0 win over Athletic Club upon their grand return to Spotify Camp Nou, Barcelona will look to shift their focus to the UEFA Champions League.
The Catalans are slated to take on Chelsea in midweek, in what could be a must-win game for the team as they look to get back into the top eight hunt.
Heading into this game, there was much optimism surrounding Pedri’s fitness, as the young midfielder is slowly starting to get better.
Pedri ruled out against Chelsea
However, reputed Spanish journalist Javi Miguel has completely ruled out the possibility of Pedri potentially playing against Chelsea in midweek.
Miguel highlighted that Pedri will travel to London but only to ‘chill out’, knowing that Tuesday is his birthday.

Therefore, the Spanish international is likely to celebrate with his teammates and friends in London rather than preparing for the Chelsea game.
Miguel adds that it is ‘totally out of question’ that Pedri will be able to play against the Blues at Stamford Bridge.
This also comes against the backdrop of recent reports which suggests Pedri won’t be able to make the trip to London.
Nevertheless, Pedri’s absence could serve as a major blow for the Blaugrana, especially at a time when the club are going through a major injury crisis.
The recent return of Joan Garcia was a major relief for the club, but Hansi Flick is still missing out on the services of various key players.
Nevertheless, Pedri travelling with the squad is a good sign for Barcelona, as he can be present in the dressing room to support the team and offer inputs.
