Davison, a two-way player, had impressed during the Rockets’ preseason games, averaging 10.5 points, 3.5 assists, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.25 steals per game while shooting 48.4% from the field and 47.1% from three.
His performance included a standout debut against the Atlanta Hawks, where he scored 17 points on just nine shots, hitting 71.4% of his threes.
The Rockets had high hopes for Davison, especially after the team lost veteran point guard Fred VanVleet to a torn ACL over the summer.
With limited options at the position, fans and coaches were excited to see if Davison could step into a bigger role.
Davison has a proven track record in the G-League, previously averaging 25.1 points, 7.6 assists, and 5.3 rebounds
